My Hero Tom Brady
posted on January 15, 2007 @ 8:41AM

Tom Brady goes out and has one of the worst game of his professional playoff career, his team gets lucky, they win, and he goes down a hero again.

Jesus H. Christ.

Brady threw three interceptions in yesterday's game against the Chargers. The first two were inexcusable errors. They were stupid, bone-headed mistakes you wouldn't even expect a rookie to make. They cost his team field position and scoring opportunities.

The last interception happened in the fourth quarter with the Patriots down by 8.

If the safety that intercepts Brady holds onto the ball, the game is essentially over. But out of nowhere, a wide receiver for the Patriots strips the ball, causes a fumble, and the Patriots recover.

The Patriots go on to tie the score and win the game.

I cannot even begin to describe by what factor luck played in that instance. If the safety had simply swatted the fourth-down pass to the ground, the Chargers had the ball.

If the safety had simply caught the ball and lied down on his face, the Chargers would have the ball.

But instead he has a fumble caused by an offensive player, and recovered by the Patriots.

Football recovery is a factor of luck.

And yet, what is all the post-game buzz about? Tom Brady knows how to win. The same Tom Brady that threw an interception to end the drive.

Unless they mean to say that Tom Brady is responsible for all random events in the universe, then I don't see how any rational observer of yesterday's game could have said anyting but Tom Brady got really fucking lucky that all his mistakes didn't cost his team the game.

You forgot to mention one thing, Mikey. Tom Brady is hot. He's so adorable, even Lady Luck has a thing for him.

Mystery solved.

Tom Brady is a loser...not in life, per se, just in the Super Bowl when the New York Football Giants handed him his ass.
